She’s an abstract artist who has been immersed in the world of art from an early age. Growing up, Valerija found inspiration and guidance from her mother, a self-taught realistic painter. These formative years sparked Valerija’s deep appreciation for art and ignited her passion for creativity.
Name “Pigmenterija” was born when Valerija discovered her passion for earth pigments and other natural materials. Amazed by the raw beauty and earthy colors found in nature in 2020 Valerija started to collect and use these elements in her artwork. She’s looking for natural pigments in local lands and selecting unique colors, raw crystals and other materials that brings a unique and earthy presence to her paintings.
Nature is a big inspiration for Valerija. The breathtaking landscapes, natural textures, and harmonious color palettes found in the nature fuel her artistic soul. Her vision is to bring some Earth into every home, because these days there’s too many unnatural materials and harmful electronic devices.

Every canvas is handcrafted by her husband Urban, so that reflects the essence of their collaboration and partnership. These wooden canvases are made with his skilled hands at utmost care, because every canvas is specially designed and created for the best outcoming results.
As mentioned above Valerija is using hand-selecting earth pigments made from soil, rocks, coal, chalk, clay and also raw crystals as calcite and rose quartz. All this mixed with acrylic medium as a guardian, her art stands resilient against the years. When painting is finished Valerija complete the story of it with her personal certificate. This certificate not only captures the pigments presentation but also bears her signature – a seal of authenticity.
Previous work.
In 2021, she unveiled her first collection “Death Valley” which captivated art enthusiasts with its evocative portrayal of the colourful desert landscapes in California. The following year, Valerija wowed audiences once again with her collection titled “From Earth to Us”, the connection between humanity and nature providing goods. Both collections quickly sold out, a testament to the allure and impact of Valerija’s work.
